About last week, I participated in Pertamina 2009 recruitment. Likely, since this year, Pertamina start to leverage IT in their recruitment program. In order to screnning participant, after submission application via website, we have to fill online test. The test consists of verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning test. From the online test result, later, participant who pass, will attend physical test at some venue.
My online test do not passed. From about 15 test at those 3 categories, I have big difficulty answering them. No wonder if finally I can not passed. From there I realize that I really need to learn more. How come if I can only answer 3 question from 15 in numerical test. The other categories is not better.

Yahoo Mobile Developer Award 2009 Kick of Briefing
Last Saturday (4th April 2009), I attended Yahoo Mobile Developer Award 2009 (YMDA 2009) Kick of Briefing at X2 Club Plaza Senayan Jakarta Selatan. The most important agenda for that day is announcement of who will be sponsor company for the event. The sponsor are 5 big company in Indonesia like, Yamaha Motor, XL, BNI, Viva News and Code Jawa. Different with previously informed, there are 5 sponsors and not 6 sponsors. However there still a lot of challenge to built application that conform with sponsor requirement. Those 5 sponsor is randomly assigned adequately to total of about 70 participants. So, about 12 to 13 teams will built application to each sponsor. Actually if we see from quantity, the competion is likely easy. Moreover if we can provide good application. The path to winning is really clear for such readyness.
Individually, I got Code Jawa as sponsor. Code Jawa itself claim, it is largest content provider company in Indonesia. Their claim seems right if we see slot of advertisement of their product in television. Not many of us know Code Jawa. But I believe most of us know Mama Lauren, Chat n Date, SMS celebrities, which are products from Code Jawa. Even though Code Jawa is not as bonafide as Yamaha, BNI or XL, or even Viva, Code Jawa provide very flexible requirements for the application needed to build. I just hope can manage 3 weeks time provided to finish application with well. Someway too, I really hope can increase possibility to grab total of 20,000 USD from to event.

Yesterday, I attended Yahoo Developer Network Kopi Darat (gathering) at Ritz-Carlton Jakarta. That gathering is aim to introduce Yahoo Developer Network in Indonesia also to launch Yahoo Mobile Developer Award 2009 (YMDA 2009).
YMDA 2009 use new mobile platform from Yahoo called Blueprint. Blueprint can be used to build new kind mobile application. Blueprint itself is use XML as its language. No scripting, just maskup. Probably, if need a kind of logic, we could use several language that is supported by blueprint such as php, java, coldfussion, etc. By launching this platform, Yahoo have some concern about new trend of internet use in future, Mobile internet.
The prize of contest is really interesting. 10,000 USD. Like usual, I must submit application. Whatever if later I will pass or reject, I don't care. Participation and trial is main thing. From there we can learn many things.
